Twin Shores celebrated the grand opening of the multi-million dollar Big D screen at the Pine Ridge 11 in Chubbuck Idaho on Wednesday, July 8th. This theater is the first of its kind in Idaho. Twin shores delivered the project for Carmike theaters, building it over the winter months to have it ready for the summer blockbusters.
Dozens of local leaders and dignitaries were on hand for the ceremony which culminated with a symbolic ribbon-cutting featuring Chubbuck Major Kevin England and Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad, among others.
The screen is 62 feet across and more than three stories high. The auditorium includes 362 custom luxury seats, the latest in 7.1 surround sound and digital projection for both 2-D and 3-D films. It is comparable to the IMAX motion picture film format.
